After earning a Bachelor's degree for English & Screenwriting at Loyola Marymount University, Elissa spent her early professional years managing a boutique DJ agency based in NYC, which inspired her to co-found Green Line Talent. In the years since, Elissa has overseen thousands of events, and DJed for clients including O.P.I., The Harlem Globetrotters, Benjamin Moore, and The New York Stock Exchange. She was recently named one of the industry's leading private event DJs by Billboard Magazine.  

Elissa has built her reputation blending the familiar with the obscure, maintaining an energetic indie electronic pulse throughout. Her sets aim to showcase something familiar, be it a beat or a lyric, along with something with which it may not be commonly paired, so you can dance guilt-free to your favorite Kylie Minogue hook, or even break a sweat to some nostalgic grunge. (Think The Smashing Pumpkins over Britney, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs with Daft Punk, or vintage LL over new Modeselektor). All of this is woven with the newest and catchiest remixes and original tracks from the world of underground electronica.

Elissa currently splits her time between Brooklyn and Chicago, and considers herself the Tiger Mom of the GLT DJs (and her black brussels griffon puppy, PJ Harvey).

DJ Elissa was fantastic! We knew we wanted to avoid the overbearing DJ that played all the stereotypical tracks, and Elissa delivered on that and then some. From the very first conversation, she was totally on top of things and easy to work with. She took the time to understand our music tastes, understand our crowd, and understand the vibe we wanted. The day and night of, she was subtle and professional, kept everything moving along, and played an unbelievable mix that perfectly represented everything we talked about. It's been 2 months since the party and we still get comments from our friends and colleagues about how great the music was! Elissa made our night even more incredible than we had hoped!

DJ Elissa really spent time to find out what kind of  vibe we wanted, what kind of music we wanted and what the guests would be expecting. She asked all the right questions and took notes. On top of that, she was cool, like, I kinda want to just hang out with you cool. She was a total pleasure to work with! The day of the party she was a complete Rockstar. I can not even count how many compliments we got on the music! She read the crowd like a magician and was somehow able to make the night flow along beautifully! Everything was PERFECT! I seriously am such a lucky lucky girl for scoring such an AMAZING gal to DJ such a big event. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH ELISSA!!!!

It was important for us to have good music that people would want to move their bodies to. Green Line Talent, Elissa in particular, was perfect for this. I think most people were truthful when they said our event was one of the best parties they had ever been to and Elissa played a huge rule in making it a memorable bash. She was extremely responsive and helpful during the planning process as we tried to hone in on the genres and vibe we wanted to create during the reception. People danced like maniacs, as did we. She was very open to our song requests but also delicately handled our uncertainty and took the lead on figuring out what was best for us.

We spent two months looking for the perfect DJ and ended our search as soon as we met Elissa. She is the most professional, responsive, and down to earth DJ in the city. Initially, based on her mixes, we unsure if she would be willing to play some of the floor fillers we craved (we were concerned that her sound was a little too indie for the type of dance party we wanted), but she more than delivered and went above and beyond the call of duty to make all of our desires met (even borrowing equipment from friends to make our 3 set-ups possible). Our live performers loved working with her too and our guests cannot stop talking about the best night of their lives. She had everyone in the room dancing until midnight- I have never seen so many people dancing non-stop on the dance floor to fantastic beats. A total pro with fantastic taste and an amazing vibe!

We hired Green Line Talent to DJ our product launch. Not only was our DJ, Elissa a regular badass, she even worked in a special karaoke section so our CEO could perform a Boys II Men song!"

Elissa put in the time with us and go to know our musical tastes and our idea of how the night would flow, music-wise. When everything came together on the event day, Elissa and her crew were there promptly to set everything up, making it really easy on us. The music was awesome! It felt like we were at our own private club and the dj had some vulcan mind-lock on our music requests. Elissa just got "us" and we couldn't have done it without her.

We used Green Line Talent for our holiday party and from the start they was professional, kind, prompt, friendly, and very open to hearing what we envisioned for our party. DJ Elissa worked with us in the months leading up to the party and each contact with her met and exceeded our expectations! The week of the party there was a small bump and Elissa offered and found an easy solution, which I really appreciated in all the last minute craziness! On the day of she was able to handle an “unpredictable” guest in a professional manner and stuck to what we had planned. I highly recommend her for your next big event!

DJ Elissa was so great—excellent communication, helped us figure out timing for everything, worked well with the venue and our other vendors, and set everything up seamlessly. She was also great at announcing speeches and stuff like that, but didn’t make her presence the focus of the attention. We also thought it was just plain cool to have a young, hip woman as our DJ. We got so many compliments on the music too! Even some of the staff told us they really appreciated the music, and one specifically thanked us for not making them “listen to Lady Gaga for the 80th time” (we avoided top 40 in general). Our photographer literally said it was “the best” music out of all the private events she’s ever shot!

We wanted our soundtrack to have a cocktail/dinner/dance party vibe and a mix of a lot of different types of music. Elissa was great from start to finish. She was professional, friendly, communicative and flexible. The music was right on, and Elissa nailed it. We couldn’t have been more pleased, and our guests had a blast. We even extended the event an hour so we could squeeze more dancing in. We have and will recommend DJ Elissa to everyone we can.
