Evan Gemmel is a fourth generation Austinite who’s lived and breathed music since his earliest memories. At the tender age five, after being awestruck by Hilary Hahn’s performance with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Evan pleaded for music lessons, and dove in head first on his teeny tiny quarter-sized violin.
Over time, Evan's natural knack for instruments led him to pick up guitar, piano, bass, drums and viola. All the while, he developed a reputation amongst his friends as the go-to mixtape curator, carefully crafting playlists of all styles on classic cassettes. By high school, Evan began dabbling in composition, experimenting with original electronic and orchestral arrangements. This ultimately led him to NYC and London, where he pursued a BA in violin performance, and composition, learning the ins and outs of electronic production. This, combined with his mixtape prowess, lured him to the DJ decks, where he quickly fell in love with perfecting the craft of live-mixing. Evan knows how to work hard, solve problems, and always finds a way to make a No into a Yes. His authentic love for music is simply infectious, and will turn any gathering into an irresistible party!

We were very pleased with Evan’s musical services for our wedding last February. In addition to rocking our dance floor on the DJ decks, he even added a live music element on his violin for our ceremony. We provided an idea of a song we’d like performed while we walked down the aisle and Evan exceeded our expectations and customized a song that was perfect for us. We still play it from time to time! Evan arrived on time the day of the wedding and even improvised when the walk to the aisle took a little longer than we anticipated. Book Evan, you will not be disappointed! 5 stars!
