A few song ideas to get your wheels turning...
Whether you're planning fully traditional affair, or just want to sprinkle in a few favorites for your aunts & uncles, we've got your back! Here are a few questions to help design the ideal blend of music. 

  • The Golden Ratio - First things' first: It's always a good idea to envision your ideal ratio of Indian vs. American music for your reception. From there, your DJ can read the crowd and make sure we are gauging your guests' reactions, and keeping an eye on which genres are working best for your crowd.

  • Your Guest List - We are all about curating to every specific guest list. If you are expecting that most of your Indian guests will be older, for instance, we might aim toward mixing in some Bollywood classics. But if you're expecting a mosh pit of younger Indian pals, then we might want to mix in some more modern or clubby Indian hits. Customization is key!

  • Pacing - A great DJ does more than just mix in the right songs. He or she always keeps pacing and timing in mind. (We all know, there are certain songs that are best saved for that end-of-night climax once everyone is "warmed up" and might otherwise flop if played too early). That said, we want to help you design the ideal musical flow for your reception. For instance, some clients come to us wanting to do a family-friendly dance set early in the evening, and gear up for a more contemporary set to close out the evening. Other times, we have clients who expect their guests from overseas to party til last call. You tell us, and we'll design a set that works for you.

  • Insider Intel - This one's a biggie! Every crowd, family, and friend group has its own history. We love to know the secret details! Do you and your siblings have a favorite classic Bollywood track you used to dance to every holiday? Do your grandparents always used to put on a certain classic song at family gatherings? Did you and your college friends have an anthem back from your nights on the town? We want to know!
