As a musician, artist, activist, and overall creative for over half of their life, Jae has been dedicated to fusing the elements of music and culture. After starting viola at eight years old, Jae fell in love with the sense of community shown in the music world. Jae continued to pursue this concept through their undergrad at Lawrence University, where they studied Music and Identity, specifically in Black communities.
After graduating in 2021, Jae continued to show up for the people around them by working with diverse youth across Milwaukee, WI. However, they missed the playfulness and joy that music performance brought them, and decided to move back to Chicago and pursue their DJ career. Since then, Jae has explored live music from local artists to international stars, allowing Chicago to show them what the scene has to offer. Jae also spends time teaching at the Merit School of Music, where they continue to share their love for orchestral string music. Jae is incredibly excited to be a part of the Green Line Team, and can't wait to meet you! /
Jae is an unparalleled multihyphenate: a thoughtful synergy of musical, narrative, and artistic talent, all delivered in a package of cool charisma. Their body of work is refreshing, eclectic, and engaging. And Jae herself is warm, observant, and quick-thinking—excelling at attending to the details that matter.
