John is a musician and DJ who also writes, produces and performs his own music. John received his bachelor’s degree in Music Composition and Jazz Studies from Elmhurst College in 2010. While at Elmhurst, he was involved in many musical endeavors such as playing trumpet with the Elmhurst College Jazz Band, playing drums with the Gretsch Electric Guitar Ensemble and composing original works for various ensembles and big bands, as well as private teaching. It was in these formative years that he got involved with studio engineering and electronic music, broadening his musical tastes and techniques even further. In addition to DJing events, John works as a Composer/Sound Designer for mobile games, as a Songwriter/Producer, is a member of an original indie rock band called Dozens and writes music with his wife who is also an artist.
John's experience as a performer has greatly influenced his DJing, introducing a nuance to mixing and song selection that only comes with the experience of performing. He approaches each event the way he approaches each song he writes, with great care and attention to the uniqueness and individuality of every event. Coupled with his attention to detail is a breadth of knowledge of the history of dance music, and what makes people want to get up and have a great time.
