For over 20 years, Jordon has been writing, performing, and recording music. Jordon’s passion as a musician began at a young age and continues today through his current work and creative practice. Living across various regions of the South exposed Jordon to an eclectic mix of musical genres, from soulful blues and zydeco to cumbia and Houston hip-hop, significantly broadening his musical taste and appreciation of all musical styles. Jordon is a classical trained violinist. Along with violin, he plays guitar and bass. Jordon earned his B.A. in Music Marketing from the University of Texas at San Antonio and M.A. in Arts Leadership from the University of Houston. While pursuing his masters degree, Jordon performed in the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra for four seasons.
While living in Houston, Texas, Jordon’s interest in producing electronic music and hip-hop beats lead him to the world of DJing. What started as a way to perform his own original music quickly evolved into a passion and creative outlet. Silky-smooth transitions and deepcut selections are a characteristic of Jordon’s DJ sets, and he draws his inspiration from the great Disco and House DJs of the 70’s and 80’s such as Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles. Jordon has released House and Techno music on independent record labels Growth in Decay, and Mystery Zone, and has composed original music for clients including Meow Wolf HTX. Jordon also curated the monthly Haunted City show for Shared Frequencies Radio, where he highlighted up and coming DJs and producers from the Gulf South. Before moving to Austin, Jordon was a longstanding resident DJ for Leeland House, a popular Saturday brunch restaurant, which is where he developed a skill for playing crowd pleasing sets that combine popular hits with lesser known musical gems. /
I chose DJ Jordon for our outdoor garden party wedding and it was amazing! It ended up being a very cold and windy night in April, and Jordon made sure to keep the music bumping! Everyone was on the dance floor all night, thanks to the cold and to DJ Jordon. Imani was super helpful and responsive too.
Only comment would be to make sure you know what is included in the base price as the lighting and such is additional. Overall very happy and would definitely recommend him and Green Line Talent for your event or wedding!
