Introducing DJ Zach, the polished, can-do musical afficianado with an infectious smile, and a singing voice that could launch a thousand ships, (or at least give the classic crooners a run for their money!)

Born and raised in Chicago, Zach’s life has revolved around music since he was a child. He picked up clarinet and piano in elementary school in addition to performing with his school choir. He always kept a Walkman in his bookbag and quickly became known around school as the go-to friend to swap CDs and lyric sheets with. 

Voice proved to be Zach's instrument of choice during his teens, when he was voted president of his high school choir and first began writing original songs. Zach soon earned a BA in Music from St. Olaf College, where he toured nationally with the University Choir while also performing in various local rock bands and participating in campus operas and musicals. 

Since college, Zach has continued to perform as a freelance vocalist in the Chicago area. He also enjoys sharing his knowledge with others by teaching voice lessons, piano lessons, general music, and songwriting/music production to elementary students. DJing became a natural next step, as he was able to showcase his sense of taste and rhythm in a way that brings people together. 

Zach has always enjoyed listening to a large variety of music in his spare time. He has a passion for the history of American pop music, and incorporates this knowledge into his DJing.  He loves playing classic songs just as much as he loves the modern hits, and is especially attuned to Hip-Hop/Rap, Soul/R&B, Top 40’s/Pop, EDM, Disco, and Funk.

We cannot recommend Green Line Talent enough! From our very first outreach, their management team was incredibly friendly, helpful, organized, and always quick to respond. They kept us on track with reminders, tips, and thoughtful answers to our many questions. As two people planning our first (and only!) wedding on our own (no planner), we were so appreciative of their support. And they offered competitive pricing for DJ services, which was a huge plus.

We had the absolute pleasure of working with DJ Zach J. He blew us away in every way and we were overwhelmed with gratitude. His extensive music background was apparent in all of his recommendations. Green Line’s survey was impressively thorough, but since we felt a little clueless about what genres worked best for each part of the day, we gave Zach just a handful of meaningful songs and trusted him to run with it—and we are SO glad we did.

Leading up to our wedding, we attended several other weddings and came to a realization- the wedding DJ can truly make or break your event. When they're on their game, it makes the entire night incredible, and when they're not, it is glaringly obvious. We are very happy to report that Greenline Talent and Zach J are firmly in the former category! The team was happy to answer any and all questions we had in the lead-up to the wedding, and we had the opportunity to speak with them and our DJ Zach J multiple times over the phone and via video. We were able to have great conversations with them about the type of music we wanted and our vision for the flow of the night. The music planning form they provided was very thorough and we were confident that the right music was going to be played at the right times. We had been kicking around the idea of trying to do a karaoke afterparty once we had closed out the dance floor, and saw that was a service Greenline was starting to provide a few months before our date! We quickly reached out and got an hour-long karaoke session added to our night. It was a mixed success, but wasn't by any means an outright bust, and was more on the fault of the venue than Greenline. We didn't love the exact location of where in the room the karaoke got set up, and the onscreen lyrics weren't keeping up with the music, which can be attributed to the venue's wifi. We know it was the first time the venue and our DJ had done something like this so we understand there were bound to be some growing pains. Everyone still had a great time! When we first talked to Zach J about what we were looking for in a DJ, we actually talked about things we DIDN'T want that we'd experienced at other weddings- DJs who seemed bored or inattentive, DJs who played the wrong music, and DJs who made it too much about themselves and would overmix, overproduce, and speed up songs so that they were really hard to enjoy. Zach J took all of our concerns to heart, and helped us pull off each of our moments flawlessly- he had the right music cued up at the exact times we'd specified on the tracks, helped get our live musician set up for the procession, and even made several edits of a song for one of the featured dances to get it just right. He also truly excelled once the party got going- he got all of our "must plays" featured, and matched the vibe of the dance floor- he kept seeming to know which songs to play to get people back on the floor when it would start to empty out, and timed out our requested slow dance songs to keep the evening flowing nicely. He was also able showcase his skills transitioning between songs- they were fun and unique enough to be noticed and appreciated, but didn't overstay their welcome. We enthusiastically recommend hiring Greenline Talent and Zach J for your event. They are thoughtful, fun, and very good at what they do in curating the best possible atmosphere so that you and your guests can enjoy to the fullest!

I'm very particular about music, and Zach was incredibly receptive and understood exactly what I was looking for. He knew how to keep the energy and vibe going throughout the night while staying clear of being a cheesy wedding DJ or making it feel like a middle school dance.

Zach J was the best DJ! On top of keeping the dance floor full he sang "Unforgettable " live for our guests. His voice is right out of the Rat Pack Era. I hired Zach to perform at my father's 70th birthday party, and he was such an amazing team player! He showed up on time, dressed to the nines, and cool as a cucumber, despite the fact that the rest of the party planning committee was a bit frazzled and unprepared to say the least! Even though we didn't have time to rehearse, Zach didn't miss a single cue, which is a testament to his preparation and performer's mindset. You can tell all of his years as a touring vocalist and musician have really paid off, and his calming energy was contagious - just what we needed!

Our experience with Green Line Talent was wonderful. The were extremely responsive. Both Zach, our DJ and the ceremony musicians were great! Our dance floor was full all night.

Leading up to our wedding, we attended several other weddings and came to a realization- the wedding DJ can truly make or break your event. When they're on their game, it makes the entire night incredible, and when they're not, it is glaringly obvious. We are very happy to report that Greenline Talent and Zach J are firmly in the former category! The team was happy to answer any and all questions we had in the lead-up to the wedding, and we had the opportunity to speak with them and our DJ Zach J multiple times over the phone and via video. We were able to have great conversations with them about the type of music we wanted and our vision for the flow of the night. The music planning form they provided was very thorough and we were confident that the right music was going to be played at the right times. We had been kicking around the idea of trying to do a karaoke afterparty once we had closed out the dance floor, and saw that was a service Greenline was starting to provide a few months before our date! We quickly reached out and got an hour-long karaoke session added to our night. It was a mixed success, but wasn't by any means an outright bust, and was more on the fault of the venue than Greenline. We didn't love the exact location of where in the room the karaoke got set up, and the onscreen lyrics weren't keeping up with the music, which can be attributed to the venue's wifi. We know it was the first time the venue and our DJ had done something like this so we understand there were bound to be some growing pains. Everyone still had a great time! When we first talked to Zach J about what we were looking for in a DJ, we actually talked about things we DIDN'T want that we'd experienced at other weddings- DJs who seemed bored or inattentive, DJs who played the wrong music, and DJs who made it too much about themselves and would overmix, overproduce, and speed up songs so that they were really hard to enjoy. Zach J took all of our concerns to heart, and helped us pull off each of our moments flawlessly- he had the right music cued up at the exact times we'd specified on the tracks, helped get our live musician set up for the procession, and even made several edits of a song for one of the featured dances to get it just right. He also truly excelled once the party got going- he got all of our "must plays" featured, and matched the vibe of the dance floor- he kept seeming to know which songs to play to get people back on the floor when it would start to empty out, and timed out our requested slow dance songs to keep the evening flowing nicely. He was also able showcase his skills transitioning between songs- they were fun and unique enough to be noticed and appreciated, but didn't overstay their welcome. We enthusiastically recommend hiring Greenline Talent and Zach J for your event. They are thoughtful, fun, and very good at what they do in curating the best possible atmosphere so that you and your guests can enjoy to the fullest!

I found Green Line Talent on The Knot and was immediately drawn to the fact that they're a women-owned business. We were matched with Zach J for our wedding, which turned out to be the perfect fit.

I'm very particular about music, and Zach was incredibly receptive and understood exactly what I was looking for. He knew how to keep the energy and vibe going throughout the night while staying clear of being a cheesy wedding DJ or making it feel like a middle school dance.

Zach was so nice to work with, and the rest of the office team was wonderful as well. Even though there were some minor hiccups during the day, I still would never hesitate to book them again if I had another event.

I highly recommend Green Line Talent for anyone looking for professional DJ services. They truly understand how to create the right atmosphere while being responsive to your specific needs and preferences.

We had an incredible experience with Zach from Green Line Talent as our wedding DJ, we loved working with him and serisouly couldn’t recommend him enough! He was very attentive and thorough throughout the process, getting a sense of our music tastes and making sure we had exactly what we wanted on our wedding day. He had exactly the right vibes for our cocktail hour, mealtime and dance party. We were very happy with the services of Green Line Talent. Imani was very easy to talk to and answered all of our questions and was easily available whenever we needed answers to questions we had. We had a great experience working with DJ Zach J and Green Line Talent! The office staff was always super communicative and easy to work with. We met with DJ Zach J twice prior to our event in order to nail down all of the details and explain what we were looking for. We provided Zach with a inspiration playlist and explained our music goals for the evening and he took it and ran with it! He mixed in the perfect amount of all of the types of music we were looking for and kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. Cannot recommend Green Line enough. SO easy to work with, and they followed up regularly and made the whole process simple and effortless. Zach J was the best DJ! On top of keeping the dance floor full he sang "Unforgettable " live for our guests. His voice is right out of the Rat Pack Era. All of our guests were so impressed with his voice and DJ skills. Nothing but rave reviews from all of out guests. Working with GLT was a breeze. Everyone was extremely responsive and accommodating, which was very important to this bride. I cannot say enough good things about them. Definitely reccomend.

I hired Zach to perform at my father's 70th birthday party, and he was such an amazing team player! He showed up on time, dressed to the nines, and cool as a cucumber, despite the fact that the rest of the party planning committee was a bit frazzled and unprepared to say the least! Even though we didn't have time to rehearse, Zach didn't miss a single cue, which is a testament to his preparation and performer's mindset. You can tell all of his years as a touring vocalist and musician have really paid off, and his calming energy was contagious - just what we needed!

As the party was winding down, Zach was kind enough to stick around and indulge a few of my uncles in discussing the music industry, and really made a friendly and warm impression on the entire party. Everyone kept asking how I found him, and if he could come to all of our family parties moving forward! We are so lucky to have stumbled upon Zach, and can't recommend working with him enough!
